Central Battery System (CBS)
One of the important system that ARENCO work with is Central Battery System (CBS) system through Schneider product. Computer Battery system (CBS) Group Ltd was formed in 1991 and consisted mainly of two firms, Computer Battery system (CBS) and Premier UPS Services, specializing in UPS Systems and Services. High-quality Central Battery Systems, ranging from small central backup power units to massive, centrally monitored emergency lighting systems with thousands of addressable emergency and exit lighting systems.
What is central battery system?
Central Battery System (CBS) is the backup power source for the Emergency and Exit Lights is provided centrally. There is no need for each emergency and exist light to have their own battery or supercapacitor. CBS is often seen as a solution for large buildings and locations. Still, it can usually pay off using a small Central Battery System in a building with no more than twenty emergency and exit lights.
Why central battery system?
A CBS network has several benefits over an emergency lighting system that is self-contained:
- Because the luminaires themselves do not contain batteries or supercapacitors, there are fewer parts for repair and operation.
- Pays off when the batteries ‘ natural life span comes to an end.
- Unlike to Self-Contained Exit and Emergency Lights, the replacement of the batteries can be done in one location with a Central Battery System, where the batteries must be replaced one-by-one, in each luminaire.
- Addressable Central Battery Systems can centrally monitor the entire emergency lighting system.
- Central monitoring of the addressable exit and emergency lights enables the individual control of each lighting circuit and light.
- Building Management System (BMS) can incorporate central monitoring systems for the Central Battery System (CBS) via an interface.
- The Centrally Supplied Emergency and Exit Lights are more affordable than Self-Contained Emergency and Exit Lights.
- Central Battery System (CBS) is a more cost-effective solution for installing a building emergency lighting system.
